Description

Grown predominantly on ancient red Cambrian soils, this wine is made from a blend of our two estate vineyards. With clonal and soil diversity between the vineyards, this Shiraz captures the essence of what makes Heathcote a truly world class Shiraz producing wine region.

The fruit is hand harvested and whole berry fermented in individual batches to preserve the clonal diversity. French and American oak is used to add structure, elegance and spice. Full of deep dark concentrated fruit, we add a small amount of Viognier to highlight the existing fruit, adding an extra layer of complexity to the wine.

Dark purple vibrant red in colour, the aromas are intensely berry driven intermingled with plum pudding spice and freshly ground coffee. The palate is concentrated and full of primary fruit flavours that are held together by silky tannins and syrupy fruit persistence, a complex and layered wine.
